IIA’s Professional Issues Committee (PIC)

My volunteer work with PIC has kept me very busy lately. I have been:
  • One of three primary authors of the IIA’s response to the exposure draft of COSO’s revised Internal Control - Integrated Framework
  • One of two primary authors of the IIA’s response to the exposure draft of IFAC’s PAIB Exposure Draft of the Proposed IGPG on Evaluating and Improving Internal Control in Organizations. How’s that for a mouthful of acronyms? For the uninitiated: IFAC is the International Federation of Accountants; PAIB is its Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee, which issues guidance for accountants working is organizations that are not public accounting firms; and IGPG is International Good Practice Guidance.
  • The primary author of the IIA’s response to the exposure draft of the International Integrated Reporting Committee’s (IIRC) Discussion Paper - Towards Integrated Reporting - Communicating Value in the 21st Century
  • One of two primary authors of a Practice Guide currently undergoing the review process on Assessing Organizational Governance
  • One of two primary authors of a Practice Guide currently undergoing the review process on Evaluating Ethics-Related Programs and Activities
  • Leading a PIC team that is considering possible enhancements and/or greater standardization of Practice Guides
